Check-In Procedure
- Campsite check-in 1 p.m.
- Check-out 11 a.m.
- You may set up earlier if the site was not occupied the night before. - If you are unable to leave by 11 a.m., contact the park host or parks & recreation staff immediately.
- If you have a reservation, be prepared to present your confirmation receipt to the campground host upon check-in.
- While each park attempts to accommodate your exact spot request, the on-site manager has the ultimate decision for spot placement.
Reservations
- Campsite reservations are encouraged for Torch Lake Campground & RV Park, especially for weekend dates from May through early October.
- Reservations may be made for camping up to one year in advance, or as late as two days before the date of occupancy, for a non-refundable fee of $10.00/reservation.
- Site 8 is ADA Accessible and can be reserved in advance, This site is available on a first come first serve basis after 6:00 p.m.
Registration, self-registration
- If you arrive and the host is not available and you do not have a reservation, use a self-registration station.
- The self-registration station is near the host site by the park entrance.
- All campers must register when they arrive at the park.
To self-register for a campsite
- Get a camping self-registration envelope at the self-registration pay station.
- Fill in the form and post the upper receipt portion at any non-reserved site.
- Do not set up on any campsite before paying.
- Immediately return to the self-registration pay station.
- Put your payment in the envelope and deposit it in the slot.
Occupying the campsite
- A camping unit (RV/Tent) must occupy the reserved campsite by 1 p.m. on the second day of the reservation and must be present for the duration of the reservation.
- If you do not check-in and occupy your reserved site before 1 p.m. the day after the scheduled arrival date and remain for the duration of the reservation, you will forfeit the site.
- Campers on first-come, first-served sites must occupy the site the first night and any consecutive nights for which they have registered.
ADA Accessible Site 8
- This site is reserved for campers who require ADA access.
- A disabled person's license plate or placard must be clearly displayed.
- If the site is not occupied by 6:00 p.m., it is open on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Camping Party
- A site may be occupied by a parent or parents with their dependent children and not more than two guests or a group of not more than six persons, regardless of age.
Length of stay
- To ensure the greatest access to campsites, a maximum length of stay has been established.
- No one may camp, or leave a “camping unit”, i.e., RV, tent, etc. in place, in the campground/park for more than 21 days per site.
Leaving early
- If a camper decides to leave early, a refund may be issued.
- No refund will be given for the current night after the 11 a.m. checkout time.
Hours
- The park is closed to non-campers between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m.
- All visitors must leave the park by 11 p.m.
- During closed hours, campers must be in or be en route to their registered campsites.
- No camping party may set up or take down a camping unit between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Fires and firewood
- Firewood is available from the campground host for $7/bundle.
- Firewood may be transported into the park from no more than 25 miles away from the park.
- Due to the potential of carrying harmful tree pests (insects and diseases), Wisconsin has restrictions for moving firewood.
- Fires are allowed in fire rings and grills only.
- Do not leave fires unattended and put out all fires before leaving.
- Do not burn garbage, plastic, glass, cans, or other recyclable items.
- Watch children very closely around fires.
- When setting up to use an area, become aware of the location of the fire ring.
- Watch the wind direction to ensure sparks are not getting on flammable materials and put the fire out if wind changes begin to cause concern.
- Do not remove hot materials from the fire ring or grill and make sure the fire is out and the grill or fire ring is cool before leaving the area.
Noise
- Please be courteous to your camping neighbors.
- At no time may the noise on a campsite create a disturbance or interfere in any manner with other people's enjoyment of the park.
- Use of chainsaws after 9 p.m. is prohibited.
Fireworks
- Fireworks are not allowed.
Recycling and refuse
- Please plan your camping to produce as little trash as possible.
- Campsites, buildings, and picnic areas do not have trash receptacles. However, there are dumpsters in the campground for your use if necessary.
- A recycling dumpster is also available for recyclable items of glass, plastic, aluminum, and tin.
- If using your own grill, place coals in an available park grill or fire ring.
Switching campsites
- Campers may not switch sites without prior approval.
Wastewater
- Please collect and dispose of dish- and hand-washing water at the sanitary dumping station.
- It is against health and safety rules to dump this "gray water" on the ground.
No Peddling
- Peddling and soliciting in County Parks is prohibited. (Ordinance 19.03).
Vehicles
- Vehicles, including ATVs, are restricted to the designated roads, trails, and campsite parking areas, and are prohibited on green areas within the park.
Pets
- All pets shall be effectively restrained or under the owner's control at all times.
Disclaimer
- If you or any member or guest of your camping party violate any law or Campground Rules, you may be cited, evicted from the park, have your camping permit revoked, and lose any fees you have paid.Cancellation Policy
MODERATE
If the guest cancels at least 1 week before your check-in day and time, they will receive a full refund (minus Spot2Nite convenience or resort fees). If the guest cancels within the 1 week before check-in, there will be no refund.
