Powder River Campground, in the heart of Cowboy Country just off Interstate 25, offers a variety of accommodations for travelers seeking a night, a week, or an extended stay. The campground provides big rig, satellite-friendly sites with full hookups, catering to the needs of RV enthusiasts. Additionally, rustic cabins with bathrooms are available for a cozy stay. For those who prefer a more traditional camping experience, tent sites along the scenic Powder River are offered, complete with hot showers and laundry facilities. Amenities at Powder River Campground include 20, 30, and 50 Amps, back-in RV sites, community showers, a dump station, laundry facilities, and pet-friendly spaces. The campground is conveniently located on the main street of Kaycee, within walking distance of restaurants, pubs, a local museum, and a grocery store. Surrounded by the rich Western history of Kaycee, Wyoming, known as outlaw country, visitors can immerse themselves in the Hoofprints of the Past Museum. This museum provides insights into Native Americans, trappers, pioneers, and outlaws of the Wild West, as well as key battles in the area. Kaycee, the birthplace of rodeo champion and country singing sensation Chris LeDoux, pays homage to its cowboy heritage with a park named in his honor. Beyond cowboy history, visitors can enjoy Wyoming trout fishing in Kaycee's lakes, reservoirs, and streams, all against the backdrop of the stunning Bighorn Mountains.
